Kota Blitar adalah kota terkecil kedua di Jawa Timur yang berjarak sekitar 197 km dari arah barat daya dari ibu kota provinsi. Kota Blitar sangat terkenal karena tokoh besar Sang Proklamator Republik Indonesia dimakamkan di kota kecil ini. Makan Sang Proklamator yang berada di jantung kota ini telah magnet bagi wisatawan dalam negeri maupun mancanegara. Di kota ini pula sebuah madrasah yang dirintis sejak tahun 1994 oleh Darmawanita Kementerian Agama Kabupaten Blitar dan berkembang menjadi Yayasan Bakti Perwanida Blitar telah menjadi salah satu ikon pendidikan Islami di Bumi Bung Karno ini.
